Why Use a Thermometer in a Chick Brooder?
Chicks are sensitive to their brooding environment, particularly during the early stages of growth. A thermometer allows the farmer to measure the temperature inside the brooding area instead of estimating it.
This is particularly useful when using a gas brooder or another heat source because the farmer can monitor the actual temperature and adjust the heating arrangement when required.
- Monitor brooder temperature
- Check humidity levels
- Reduce reliance on temperature guesswork
- Monitor changes in the brooding environment
- Check maximum and minimum recorded readings
- Useful when setting up and managing chick brooding areas
Temperature and Humidity Monitoring
This HTC-1 digital meter displays both temperature and relative humidity on the screen.
The temperature measurement range is -10°C to +50°C, while the humidity measurement range is 10%–99% RH.
The temperature resolution is 0.1°C and the humidity resolution is 1% RH.
Maximum and Minimum Temperature & Humidity Memory
The thermometer includes a memory function that allows the user to check recorded maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values.
This can help farmers monitor changes in conditions over time instead of relying only on the current reading displayed on the screen.
Additional HTC-1 Functions
In addition to temperature and humidity monitoring, the digital unit includes several additional functions:
- Temperature display in °C or °F
- Maximum and minimum temperature memory
- Maximum and minimum humidity memory
- 12-hour or 24-hour clock display
- Daily alarm function

Digital Brooder Thermometer for Gas Brooders
This digital thermometer can be used alongside a gas brooder to monitor the temperature within the chick brooding area.
The thermometer measures the surrounding temperature. It does not control the gas brooder or automatically adjust the heat output.
Farmers should position the thermometer appropriately within the brooding environment and follow their poultry management guidelines when determining the required brooding temperature.
